Early pregnancy symptoms

Have you been actively trying to conceive? Because very early signs of pregnancy symptoms are similar to premenstrual syndrome, the most accurate way to know that you have a baby on board is to take pregnancy tests. However, these symptoms can still provide credible clues.Early signs of pregnancy before a missed period🤰Basal body temperatureAn elevated basal body temperature🌡️ by 1 degree when you check your first morning temperature can be a good indicator of the big news. The temperature may rise and stay the same during pregnancy, but it's not likely to be a huge increase.😃 🤰Smell sensitivitySmells of your favorite food or previously mild odors👃 that once made you pleasant become unappealing and distasteful. You might want to throw up immediately if the situation is severe.🤮 This is a very common symptom of pregnancy indicating good news.🤰Breast changesTender, swollen breasts followed up with darkening and bumpy areolas🧐 are signs of breast changes that make you feel itchy and be in pain. Pregnancy fatigue occurs shortly after you conceive.🥘Other signs of pregnancy including missed periods 🤰 Missed periodsIf you have regular periods🩸, this can be a good sign that all expectant moms experience. Missed periods are very common when you suspect pregnancy.😃🤰Implantation bleedingLight spotting or implantation bleeding can be an early pregnancy signal that an embryo has deposited itself into the uterine wall. Miscarriage rates by week

The experience of miscarriage is physically and mentally painful that no words can describe. The phenomenon is known to occur more frequently in women at advanced maternal age, or greater than 35 years old.👩👵 🤰Maternal health conditions  Uterus or cervix infections can be detrimental to a developing baby. If the uterus cavity has any defects, it can't support a healthy pregnancy.🤰   Underlying health conditions and bad lifestyle habits also impair successful pregnancy rate. You can experience it without realizing you're pregnant.😟 The later you conceive your baby, the more dangerous the risks are. 🤰Week 6 to 12When your baby makes it to 6 weeks and has confirmed viability with a heartbeat, the rate of miscarriage drops to 10 percent. Blood pressure

Why should I take the test?💡 Your blood pressure is a measurement of the pressure that your blood puts against the walls of the blood vessels. High blood pressure suggests threatening complications such as pre-eclampsia, kidney disease, diabetes or chronic hypertension. High blood pressure can also prevent blood from flowing to the placenta. Placenta abruption, premature birth, gestational diabetes or birth defects may occur if your baby doesn't get enough nutrients or oxygen. Therefore, you should check your blood pressure regularly so that high blood pressure is picked up and immediately treated. How is the test done?💉   If you use an upper arm monitor, always measure your blood pressure using the same arm. Fit the cuff onto your bare arm, sit straight with your back supported, both feet flat on the ground. Make sure that the machine is on a flat surface. Rest your arm on a table or across the lab with your palm facing upward and slightly open. Press the 'Start' button and the cuff starts tightening around your arm. Done! Get your blood pressure result.TMI from Baby Billy👩‍⚕️:Results on the monitorYour blood pressure is recorded in two numbers. The top one is called systolic, the pressure when the heart is pumping. Diastolic is the bottom number indicating the pressure in between each beat. When you're pregnant, your blood pressure is considered higher than normal. It usually disappears after your baby is born. When systolic is 140 or more, diastolic is 90 or more, it means you have hypertension.Treatments for high blood pressureIf you have chronic hypertension, you need to have your blood pressure checked regularly to make sure it returns to safe levels during pregnancy. It's important to quit smoking, eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly and especially gain weight healthily. Pre-eclampsia is one of the complications that may arise due to high blood pressure. It can be managed with medication and close monitoring of both you and the baby. If the situation gets worse, you have to go to emergency and have your baby delivered early.

Pelvic pain during pregnancy

Do you feel pain in the hips or groin? Pelvic pain is what you are going through now. Causes of pelvic pain🤕Hormonal changesIncreased levels of relaxin hormone relax your ligaments, making your pelvic joints unstable and moving unevenly.😟 If these ligaments stretch too far and the bones move too easily, they can put pressure and collide nearby muscles, causing pain.🤕😷 🤒 🤕🤕Weight gainYour pelvis is pushed forward and the curve of your lower back is more visible when your belly keeps growing. Your muscles around the pelvic are being put under lots of pressure, causing pelvic pain.😷 Different types of pelvic pain🤕Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)SPD happens when ligaments sitting centered between your pubic bones relax and become more flexible. The joint moves too much and causes mild or severe pain.🤒 🤕Diastasis Symphysis Pubis (DSP)If the pubic symphysis widens too far, the widening joint becomes unstable and causes pain. You may experience pains raging from mild to excruciating.😣🤕Sacroiliac joint painThe sacroiliac joints contain ligaments as the bridge connecting the pelvis and lower spine. If these ligaments relax too much, bones in this area can mobilize, putting pressure on nearby muscles and nerves, causing pain.🤕 Because the joints support the legs when you stand, the pain may radiate down your legs, into the back or front of your thighs. 🤕Round ligament painTwo round ligaments that attach your uterus to your pelvis and hold your uterus in place. As your belly grows, the uterus is being pushed to the front, the ligaments also stretch to accommodate it, causing pain.😖 Usually the pain is mainly in the groin where your abdomen meets your legs. Pelvic pain treatment🤕Pregnancy girdles, bands and beltsThe belts gently place more pressure to the pelvis to prevent it from moving freely. They can be effective if you combine them with gentle exercises.🏃‍♀️🤕Sleep positioningPregnancy pillows are recommended to better support your belly and hips. They can also ease the pressure on your pelvic ligaments and reduce pains.😃🤕Physical therapyCertain exercises can be helpful in reducing pelvic pains. Ask your medical provider about therapies and stretches to make you feel better.👩‍⚕️🤕AcupunctureSometimes, acupuncture can be used to relieve pelvic pains. You have to find a licensed and professional practitioner to ensure your safety and effectiveness.🙆‍♀️🤕Pain relieversAcetaminophen can be used to relieve pains.💊 However, you should avoid anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen because it can make your immune system weaker. Consult with your doctor for a prescription.👩‍⚕️

Pregnancy due date calculator

Why should I take the test?💡 Once you have confirmed that you're pregnant, aren't you curious about when your due date is? The average pregnancy is calculated as 282 days, approximately 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period. A full-term pregnancy can be anywhere between week 37 and 42. If your baby comes out before week 37 of pregnancy, your baby is considered premature. Your pregnancy lasting longer than 42 weeks signals overdue. How is the test done?💉   Healthcare providers estimate your baby's due date based on the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). It's just an estimated day, not a deadline for your baby to come out on time so don't be too stressed about it. Your due date can change!Let's say you have regular 28-day menstrual cycles. Following Naegele's Rule, you count back 3 calendar months from that date, add 1 year and 7 days to that date. Voila, here is your pregnancy due date.    TMI from Baby Billy👩‍⚕️:  Conception dateConception date is the day on which your baby is conceived. It's the day when your partner's sperm is fertilized with your eggs to create a new angel in your body.Pregnancy due date is calculated using the first day of your LMP instead of your conception day because of inaccuracy. Ovulation happens approximately 2 weeks after your ovaries release an egg. Once the egg has been released, it can remain fertile for up to 24 hours, meaning you can only get pregnant about 12 to 24 hours around the time that you ovulate. However, sperm can live inside your fallopian tubes for up to 5 days so it can be difficult to know exactly the day when sperm meets egg and decides to produce a baby together. If your periods are irregular…If you're not sure of your menstrual cycle, you can always opt for an ultrasound. Ultrasound measurements for estimating the age of the fetus and calculating your due date more accurately in the early stages of pregnancy. The best timing for an ultrasound is between 8 weeks and 13 weeks 6 days.

Excess saliva during pregnancy

Don't worry too much. Excess saliva during pregnancy is normal to have when you're pregnant and it won't badly affect your baby. But it can affect the quality of your life depending how much saliva you have. Causes of excess saliva👄Excessive salivationUsually your salivary glands produce about 1 ½ quarts of saliva a day but it's not evident since you constantly swallow unconsciously.😃 However, if you suddenly notice you have a lot more saliva in your mouth, you are producing more or swallowing less, either of these two cases.🙂👄NauseaDuring the first few months, you're likely to experience morning sickness and nausea.🤢 Sometimes, when you're nauseated, you produce more saliva than usual so you need to spit some out. When to expect excess saliva 👄Hormonal changesThe real reason why you have excessive saliva in early pregnancy is unknown.🤷 Hormonal changes during pregnancy might be one of the contributing factors.🙂 👄NauseaFeeling nauseous makes you swallow less, leading to saliva build up in your mouth. If you experience a severe form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum, immense saliva production is much more common.🤢 👄HeartburnHeartburn causes irritation to the esophagus, stimulating your salivary glands to neutralize the tsunami acid in your stomach by producing more saliva.🤢  This phenomenon is also common when you vomit.🤮👄IrritantsCertain irritants such as smoke, oral infections, tooth decay🦷, or exposure to toxins can make you produce an excessive amount of saliva. Consult with doctors for these medical conditions.👩‍⚕️
